Mark Mccarthy

Mark D. McCarthy, 54 of Wakefield died unexpectedly at his home on Monday, September 29. Born in Norwood, April 1, 1954 he was the son of David and Patricia (Landrigan) McCarthy of Centerville.

Mark was a graduate of Wakefield high School, Class of 1972 and also attended classes at Northeastern University. A longtime resident of Wakefield he had briefly lived in Ipswich and Melrose before returning to Wakefield. Mark worked for Madico Inc. in Woburn. He was a charismatic man who enjoyed a good joke, gardening, and playing golf with his brothers and friends. He was also actively involved in Wakefield Little League coaching his daughter's softball teams.

He was the beloved husband of Susan L. (Conger) McCarthy, the loving father of Kendra and Colleen of Wakefield, the beloved son of David and Patricia McCarthy of Centerville and brother of David of Santa Fe, NM, Thomas of Yarmouthport, John and Michael of Tampa, FL, James of Wakefield and the late Paul McCarthy. He is also survived by a large extended family and many dear friends.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday 4-8 PM.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry, c/o first Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St., Wakefield, MA 01880.
