Martin Lawrence, Jr.

Martin J. Lawrence, Jr. of Hudson, NH formerly of Wakefield died suddenly Nov. 16 at age 83. Born in Stoneham on April 28, 1925 he was the son of the late Martin J. & Annie E. (Milliken) Lawrence. Marty was raised in Stoneham and Reading and had been a long time Wakefield resident. He was a decorated W.W. II veteran and served in both the Army & Navy. He was retired from the Town of Wakefield Department of Public Works, Parks Department. He was a member of the West Side Social Club, American Legion Post # 63, V.F.W. and the Humane Society of the U.S.A.

Mr. Lawrence is survived by his son Martin J. Lawrence, III of Wakefield. He was also the brother of Beatrice M. Zanes of NH and the late Harold, Wilbur and Oscar Lawrence. He was the uncle of the late Viola Morgan and is also survived by many additional nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Thursday at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday 4-8 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
