Mary Harris

Mary Harris passed away on April 25, 2010 at Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, FL after a courageous four year battle with ovarian cancer. She was predeceased by her husband, Jerome Harris and she was the daughter of the late Ignazio and Josephine (Caruso) Tine.

Mary was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1947 and of Kathleen Dell School. She was a Medical Assistant to doctors in Melrose, Boston and in Florida for many years.

Mrs. Harris is survived by her two brothers Richard and Sebastian (Patricia) Tine and her sister, Jenni Joan Reilly (Allen) all of Wakefield. She was the aunt of Joanne Reilly of Wakefield, Jennifer Ryan (Tim) of Quincy, Allen Reilly (Lynn) of MI, Peter Reilly (Barbara) of Shrewsbury, Christopher Reilly (Susan) of VA, David Reilly (Laura) of Westwood, MA and the late Jonathan Reilly. She also leaves twenty-one grand- nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and her long-time friend and traveling companion, Cay Curtis of CA. She also leaves Aunt Connie Cavallaro, 105, of Andover.

She was a communicant of Blessed Pope John XXIII parish in Fort Myers.

An avid golfer, Mary was Ladies Champion at two different golf clubs in Florida and boasted of having made four holes-in-one.

She will be remembered for her generous nature and her admirable sprit and love of life.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery, Wakefield.
