Mary R. Auriemma

Mary R. Auriemma, age 87 of Stoneham died peacefully Tuesday, November 5 at Beverly Hospital after a brief illness. 

Mary completely dedicated herself to family; as a loving mother, grandmother and wife. She was a simple person, honest and genuine. Mary was a great listener and loved people and personal conversations. She was a strong, resilient woman who had several health and physical setbacks, including dementia later in life.

Mary was born in Medford on October 12, 1937. The daughter of the late Paul and Concetta (Bordinaro) Mantia. She was a graduate of Medford High School. She was a long-time resident of Stoneham and member of Saint Patrick Parish.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Paul G. Auriemma. She was the loving mother to Paul Auriemma and his wife Carolyn of NH, Stephen Auriemma of Chelmsford, Ronald Auriemma and his wife Michele of Stoneham, and Mark Auriemma and his wife Christine of Stoneham. She was the sister of Anna May Panetta, Stephen Mantia and the late Paul Mantia. 

She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, Christopher, Jessica, Amanda, Casey, Nicole, Joseph, Elise, Grace and Leo, and the great grandmother of Lucas.

Relatives and friends may visit at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home 322 Main Street Stoneham on Tuesday November 12 at 9 am followed by her Funeral Mass at Saint Patrick Parish, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
