Mary G. Basile, 89, of Stoneham died on Saturday, August 2 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers.
Born in East Boston on February 27, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Alessio and Concetta (D'Amato) Dente.
Mrs. Basile had been a Stoneham resident since 1974. She was a graduate of Girls High School in Boston. Mrs. Basile was a proud member of ITAM and St. Joseph Parish in Wakefield.
She is survived by her husband of 68 years Vincent Basile, Jr., her daughter Marilyn Mandosa of Stoneham, her sister Virginia Cieri of Saugus, her four grandchildren; Kim Mance, Frank Mandosa, Danielle Mandosa-Gori and Holly Dauwer and her four great grandchildren; William and Francesca Mance and Zachary and Keira Mandosa. Mrs. Basile was predeceased by her son Robert F. Basile, her four sisters; Josephine Gravellese, Nell Battaglia, Rose DeFronzo, and Alice Pagiaro and her two brothers; Alphonse Dente and Albert Dente.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Wednesday at 11:30am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield prior to the mass starting at 10am. Interment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
