Mary I. Bridle, a longtime Stoneham resident, passed away at the age of 98 on Monday, March 11 at the Bear Hill Nursing Home.
Born in Boston on September 1, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Rosa (Minelli) Orsini.
Mary was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School. She joined the WAVES Reserves and proudly served as a member of the United States Navy during WWII before being Honorably Discharged in 1951. Mary had worked in the rations department for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She was a member of the former All Saints Episcopal Church of Stoneham and enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Eugene P. Bridle. She was the loving mother of Anna Rushworth of Derry, NH, Eugene P. Bridle, Jr. and his wife Christine of Haverhill, Martin J. Bridle of Stoneham, and Margaret R. Robertson and her husband Robert of North Reading. She was the sister of the late Phil Orsini. She was the beloved grandmother of William J. Rushworth, Leann M., Catherine M., and Jessica Bridle, and Montana, Cheyenne, Stone, and Sierra Robertson. She was also the great grandmother of Ace, Parker and MacKenzie.
Her Funeral Service will be held in the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Friday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-7pm. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
