Mary Powers

Mary C . Powers of Reading and a formerly of Stoneham and Charlestown died Friday July 8 at age 76. Born on January 13, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Myers) Tarrant. Mrs. Powers was raised Charlestown and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She had been a long time Stoneham resident before making her home in Reading several years ago. Mrs. Powers was a retired office manager for the Charette Corporation of Woburn and had also been active with the Reading Senior Center.

She was the wife of the late Robert Powers . She was the mother of Daniel Powers of Stoneham, Paul Powers and his wife Nancy of Wakefield and Kathleen Carroll and her husband Timothy of Xenia, OH. She was the sister of Margaret "Peg" Murphy of Somerville and the late John, Edward and Thomas Tarrant. She is also survived by her 7 grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald – Finnegan Funeral Home 322 Main St. Stoneham Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10:00. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home Tuesday 4-8 pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham.
