Mary Fitzgerald

Mary E . Fitzgerald of Stoneham, age 87 died Tuesday April 28 after a lengthy illness. Born in Stoneham on May 15, 1921 she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Ahern) Gay. A life long Stoneham resident she was a graduate of Saint Patrick High School in Stoneham and later from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1943. She was a life long member of Saint Patrick Parish.

Mrs. Fitzgerald was the beloved wife of the late Edward Fitzgerald . She was the loving mother of Jane Finnegan and her husband Daniel of Topsfield, Mary Ann Fitzgerald of Peabody and William Fitzgerald and his wife Vicky of Stoneham. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Reilly and Casey Finnegan and Tyler Fitzgerald . She is pre-deceased by her two brothers Edward and Robert Gay.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham Friday at 8am followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 9:00. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4-8pm.
