Mary Martello

Mary E . Martello , 93, of Wakefield, died Thursday, March 26 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Wakefield on January 30, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Lucia (DiBenedetto) Angelo.

Mrs. Martello was a life long Wakefield resident. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1934. Mrs. Martello was the former owner of Bel-Mar Restaurant on Albion St. and was a past employee of Guillows in Wakefield. She was a member of St. Florence Parish and the Crystal Community Club.

Mrs. Martello was the wife of the late Pasquale Martello . She was the mother of Cynthia A. Graham & her husband Richard and Michael W. Martello & his wife Margaret A. all of Wakefield, sister of John Angelo of Wakefield and the late Nellie Calarco, grandmother of Luann Toothaker, Richard Graham, Paula Graham, Michelle DeMarco, Amanda Martello and Michael Martello . Mrs. Martello is also survived by 9 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield on Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friend may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 – 6 pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
