Mary F. Donovan

Mary F. Donovan, who was a friend to everyone she met, passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2024 surrounded by her family in Lynnfield.  Born on September 29, 1937 in Dorchester MA.  She was the daughter of Edward and Edna (Hanley) Guiney and grew up in Dorchester.  She was sister to Edward.  Loving mother of Danny Donovan of Lynnfield, Paul Donovan and wife Kristin Robinson of Marblehead, Eddie Donovan of Wilmington, Maryellen Donovan of Haverhill, and Karen Keohane and husband Kevin of Wilmington.  Also survived by her 9 grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Hannah, Katrina, Kayla, Emerson, Aimee, Darren, and Samantha.   

Mary retired from the phone company in 1997. Spending time with her children and grandchildren were the happiest times. She attended many soccer games, dance recitals, and drama productions. She enjoyed her retirement and traveling with her friends.  Golfing with what she termed the “golf girls” was her greatest joy.  She belonged to several bowling leagues.  She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was also a member of the Women’s club. She enjoyed life to the fullest and touched everyone she met.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Tuesday May 7 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Her Funeral Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday May 8 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Forest Hill Cemetery, Lynnfield.
