Mary Gallucci

Mary A . Gallucci , 93, of Wakefield died at her home on Friday, August 15th.

Born in Everett on June 26, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Phillip and Damiana (Ferro) Faragi.

Mrs. Gallucci was raised in Saugus and was a graduate of Saugus High School, class of 1939. She had been a long time member of at St. Florence Church in Wakefield, where she had served a Eucharistic Minister and was also a member of the church's Sodalitry. Mrs. Gallucci had been the past President of the Wakefield Sons of Italy where she had been a member for over 50 years. She had worked as an Administrator for the Wakefield Housing Authority for 20 years and more recently as a staff member and board member of the Wakefield Council on Aging. Mrs. Gallucci was very active with the senior citizens of Wakefield and she had also been the West Side Social Club's Citizen of the year for 1976. Her and her late husband had held outdoor barbeques at their home for all the seniors of Wakefield.

Mrs. Gallucci was the wife of the late Mario G. Gallucci . She was the mother of the late John M. Gallucci and his wife Kathryn of Wakefield. She was the sister of Michael Faragi and his wife Carol of N.H. and Jennie Boccelli of Peabody and the late John, Salvatore and Albert Faragi and Phyllis Beauchamp and Anna Palmerino. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and hundred of friends.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave on Tuesday at 8:30 followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave. at 9:30. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 4 - 8 P.M. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery.
