Mary T. Hurton, 84 a lifelong resident of Wakefield died at her home on Monday January 23. Born in Wakefield, December 22, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Alice (Matthews) Beane.
Mary was a graduate of Wakefield High School class of 1945. She was a Transcriber for the former Malden Hospital. Mary enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, and traveling with her husband Tucker. She was also an avid sports fan.
Mary is survived by her husband Thomas E. "Tucker" Hurton, her children; Thomas E. Hurton Jr., John P. Hurton, Paul J. Hurton, and Mary P. Nardone all of Wakefield. Phillip M. Hurton of Hopkinton, Barbara Drewes of Phillipston, Lois Dishman of Templeton and the late Paula Hurton. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Leo, Raymond, and James Beane, and 3 sisters, Elizabeth Shanahan, Rita Garbenis and Alice Stebbins.
The funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday 5-8 p.m.
