Mary S. Ledbetter, age 96, of Middleburg, Florida formerly of Stoneham and Watertown died Friday, November 3 at her residence.
Mary was born in San Valentino, Chieti, Italy on May 24, 1921 and was the daughter of the late Antonio and Anna (Federico) Salvitti.
Mary was raised in Watertown and was a graduate of Watertown High School. She was a resident of Stoneham since 1960 and was a member of St. Patrick Church. She later moved to Florida in 1993. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed her family and friends dearly.
Mary was the beloved wife of the late Jack Van Ledbetter. She was the loving mother of Anthony W. Ledbetter and his wife Nicole of NH., Robert L. Ledbetter and his wife Dianne of Fl., and the late Gloria McClay and Elaine McCaslin. She is survived by her sister Elaine Hendrix, and predeceased by three sisters: Pearl Brady, Ann Gandiosi, and Natalie Digiovanni. She was the loving grandmother of Joshua, Corrien and Sarah Ledbetter, James, Christina and Heather McClay, Erin Comesana and Jason Farrell.
Her funeral service will be held in The McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322, Main Street, Stoneham on Friday, November 10, at 11am. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held prior to the service beginning at 10am. Interment will be held in Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
