Mary Dawson

Mary M . Dawson , 88, of Wakefield died Wednesday, December 30 at her home.

Born March 15, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Mary M . (Dineen) Killilea.

Mrs. Dawson was raised in Somerville and graduated from Somerville High School. She was named Miss Somerville in 1939. She was a member of St. Joseph Church where she taught CCD Special Needs for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was also a volunteer in the Literacy Program at The Lucius Beebe Memorial Library.

Mrs. Dawson was the wife of the late John J. Dawson . She was the mother of Patrick J. Dawson of GA, John P. Dawson of Pepperell, Paul J. Dawson of Peabody, Patricia A. Gallagher of Derry, NH, William D. Dawson of Raymond, NH, MaryBeth Drager of Wakefield, and the late Timothy P. Dawson . She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two sisters Dorothy Killilea and Alice Finnigan.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion Street, Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics, 1133 19th Street North West, Washington, DC 20036.
