Mary T. O'Neill, 86 of Wakefield formerly of Somerville died Saturday March 19, at the Winchester Nursing Care Center. Born in Boston, June 20, 1924 she was the daughter of the late Roger and Katherine (O'Toole) Collum.

Mary was a graduate of Jamaica Plain High School. She was an active member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Church Women's Guild and also the Guild at St. Ann Parish in Somerville. Mary was a retired Secretary from the Welfare Department for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Mary was the wife of the late Walter H. O'Neill. She was the mother of Arthur H. O'Neill and his wife Joan of Swampscott, Patricia Scott and her husband Robert of Hampton, NH, Theresa Janetatos and her husband John of Brooklyn, NY, Jean O'Neill and her husband John Malone of Wakefield, Barbara Mattos and her husband Stephen of Burlington, Walter O'Neill and his wife Marlene of Wilmington, and the late Margaret "Peggie" Conroy. Mary was the sister of Clair Kolf of Dedham and was the Mother-in-law of Peter Conroy of Stoneham. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Tuesday at 11 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield at 12 noon. A period of visitation will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 p.m.

Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mary O'Neill Scholarship Fund, c/o the Women's Guild at Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St., Wakefield, MA 01880
