Mary Petrillo

Mary E . Petrillo , age 89, of Reading died Wednesday, March 22 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Boston on May 27, 1927 she was the daughter of the late William and Sarah (Lane) Saunders.

Mrs. Petrillo was raised and educated in Medford. After starting her family with her late husband, Augustine Petrillo , they moved to California for a number of years. While there, Mrs. Petrillo worked as a bookkeeper for Howard Hughes. She was a devoted wife and mother and was known for her generous spirit. She also enjoyed Bingo at the Reading Senior Center and bird watching.

She is survived by her daughter: Michelle Watkins and her husband George of Reading; her grandchildren: Derek Watkins and Kelley Atlee and her husband Mark. She is also survived by three great granddaughters: Emma, Hanna, and May.

Funeral services were private. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
