Mary Pietrafitta

Mary P. Pietrafitta, 92, of Wakefield died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Friday, May 29.

Born in Beverly on October 22, 1916 she was the daughter of the late John and Agatha (Menino) Marletta.

Mrs. Pietrafitta was raised and educated in Beverly. She was an active member of the Sons of Italy Lodge in Wakefield, and an active bowler through her late 80's. Mrs. Pietrafitta worked the Wakefield polls at the Westside Social Club and was a world traveler.

She was the wife of the late Anthony J. Pietrafitta. Mrs. Pietrafitta was the devoted mother of Richard Pietrafitta and his wife Lucia, Anthony J. Pietrafitta and his wife Teresa all of Wakefield and Maria P. Walton and her husband Bill of Harvard. She was the loving grandmother of Mark, Stacy, Jason, Christopher, Christina and Steven. Mrs. Pietrafitta was predeceased by her four brothers; Joseph, Salvatore, John and Robert and her two sisters; Grace and Connie.

Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St, Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the VNA of Middlesex-East, Visiting Nurse Hospice 607 North Ave, Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
