Mary Roach

Mary E . Roach , 88, a life long resident of Wakefield died on Tuesday, March 25 at the Genesis at Wakefield Center.

Born in Wakefield on October 29, 1925 she was the daughter of the late John J. and Marion (Hart) Roach .

Ms. Roach was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School in Wakefield, Class of 1940 and Wakefield High School, Class of 1944. She had retired from W.E. Andrews Company of Bedford in 1991 where she was employed as a technical proof reader. In her earlier years, Ms. Roach was employed by the Wakefield Item, the Murray Printing Company (Now Courier Corp.) and Loring Studios. She enjoyed bowling and had been a member of the Senior Bowling League of Wakefield

Ms. Roach is survived by her sister Barbara Cramb of Leominster, her niece Carol (Prentice) Farr of Melrose who was her loving caretaker for the past several years and 16 other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother John J. Roach Jr., her three sisters; Anne Baker, Dolores Samowski and June Prentice and her nephew David Cramb.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. There are no calling hours.
