Mary Sapienza

Mary J . Sapienza , 88, a lifelong Stoneham resident died on Saturday, February 20 at the Mary Immaculate Nursing Home in Lawrence.

Born in Italy on October 11, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Maria (Rotondo) Valente.

Mrs. Sapienza was a retired office manager for Barbo's Furniture Company & Puritan Furniture Company both in Stoneham. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Stoneham.

Mrs. Sapienza was the wife of the late Anthony S. Sapienza . She is survived by her two sons; Anthony Sapienza and his wife Patricia of Burlington and Mark Sapienza and his wife Donna of Stoneham and her five grandchildren; Christina Serio and husband Christopher, Michael Sapienza and wife Amanda, Adriana Lomartire-Lynch and husband Denis, Giovanna Lomartire and Christian Sapienza and her great grandson Jackson Lomartire-Lynch, her sister-in-law Helen Valente of Stoneham and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Sapienza was predeceased by her sister Anna Cimina and her husband Dominic and her brother Salvatore Valente.

Her Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472.
