Mary Imelda (Ryder) Young 

May 7, 1931 - December 19, 2023 

Wakefield, Massachusetts. Mary died peacefully on December 19, 2023 at Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, MA. 

Mary was born in Lynn, MA on May 7, 1931 to Irish immigrants who settled in Lynn MA. 

Mary worked as a secretary for General Electric in Lynn after graduating from St. Mary’s. She was a working mother of four children and worked as a health aide at the Shore View House, Lynn Home for the Elderly in Lynn, MA., retiring in 2010. 

She was a loving wife to Kenneth B. Young, who pre-deceased her in 2008, and wonderful mother and grandmother. Family came first and was everything. She was the most selfless individual with compassion and kindness for others that is immeasurable. Her faith in God provided her with strength throughout her life. She will be missed beyond words. 

Mary is survived by her children: Diane (LeBaron) Iarrobino and husband Tony, Kathleen (LeBaron) Asmar and late husband Louis, Gary LeBaron, Julie (LeBaron) deGrandpre. Granddaughters: Paige deGrandpre, Blair deGrandpre, Grandsons: Joseph LeBaron, Sean LeBaron, Ryan LeBaron. Great grandchildren: Tyler, William, Nathan, Penny, Freya. Nieces and nephews.

Mary is also survived by her sisters Sister Theresa Ryder, S.N.D., Ipswich, MA., Agnes Prescott, Peabody, MA. She is pre-deceased by siblings, Patricia Forbes, Peabody, MA., Edward Ryder, Macon, GA., Margaret (Ryder) Uzdavanis, Salem, MA.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Street., Wakefield, MA on Wednesday, December 27, 2023. The family will receive visitors from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. 

Interment will be private.
