MaryJane Orlandello, age 84 of Lynnfield and formerly of East Boston died peacefully on January 31st surrounded by her loving family after having fought a courageous four and a half year battle with ovarian cancer with the utmost grace and dignity.
She was born in Boston on July 5, 1938 and was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Edith (Colombo) Arena. She was raised in East Boston and was graduate of East Boston High School. She met her future husband at the former Nautical Bowling Alley in Revere and four years later they were married. She and her husband operated the Cantina Italiano Restaurant on Hanover Street in Boston’s North End and they later went on to establish the Commercial Wharf Realty Trust. MaryJane enjoyed many summers on Cape Cod with her family. She was generous with her family and friends; she loved entertaining, cooking, and traveling around the world.
She was the beloved wife of Anthony L. Orlandello. She was the loving mother of Jane M. Orlandello and her partner Kathy Holden of Lynnfield, Lois E. Murphy of Lynnfield and Toni Anne Harrison and her husband David of Boston. She was the sister of Frances Ristaino. She was also the devoted grandmother of Nicole Dorothy Jane Hunter and her husband Christopher, Julieann Marie Murphy and Anthony John Murphy.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Our Lady of the Assumption Church, corner of Salem and Grove Sts., Lynnfield on Tuesday, February 7 at 10am. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Monday, February 6th from 3-7pm.
