Mavis Y. White, 85, of Wakefield died Friday, July 2 at the Wingate at Reading Nursing Home.
Born in Maine on January 18, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary Kitchen.
Mrs. White had been a Wakefield resident for the past 57 years. She was a graduate of Revere High School. Mrs. White was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Wakefield and was a member of the Chatter Box Group. She was an avid Bridge player and had enjoyed making pottery.
Mrs. White was the wife of the late Arthur White Jr. She was the mother of the late Arthur White III and Ronald A. White. Mrs. White is survived by her two granddaughters; Michelle White of Lynn and Brenda White of Salem and her five great grandchildren; Brigitte, Andrew, Ryan, Christopher and Cassandra.
A funeral service will be held in the First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St, Wakefield on Wednesday at 11am. Visitation will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield.
