Michael S. Hayes

Michael S. Hayes, 76, of Wakefield, passed away on Friday, January 10 at the Willow Brook Rehab & Nursing Center in Wilmington.

Born in Warren, Ohio on June 26, 1948, he was the son of the late Robert R. and Hazel (Robinson) Hayes.

Michael was raised in Michigan and had been a Wakefield resident since 1984. He was a retired Automotive Mechanic and custodian for the Billerica Public School System. He served two tours in the United States Navy during Vietnam.

Michael is survived by his two daughters; Rachael Oliva and her husband Davide Oliva of Methuen and Nicole Hayes and her partner Ryan Cullan of Tewksbury. He was predeceased by his brother Jerry Hayes. Michael was a devoted Grumpy to his grandchildren Shannon Hayes, Shaun Hayes and Aubree Oliva.

Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday January 15 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. A brief service will be held immediately following the visiting hours at 7:00 p.m. A private interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
