Michael Kilkelly

Michael J. Kilkelly of Wakefield, age 66 died Monday January 12 after a lengthy illness.

Born in Ryehill, County Galway, Ireland on May 19, 1942 he was the son of the late James & Mary (Lally) Kilkelly.

Mr. Kilkelly was raised in Ryehill and came to the U.S. in 1966. He was a graduate of NorthEastern University and the South East London Technical Institute. He most recently had been employed with Innovent Technologies of Peabody and previously was with the M.I.T. Draper Laboratories NASA program. Mr. Kilkelly had served with the Massachusetts National Guard and was a member of the Bear Hill Golf Club, Wakefield Council #104 Knights of Columbus and the North Shore Irish Association where he was a past President.

He is survived by his wife Barbara J. (Bernard) Kilkelly. One daughter KerryAnne K. Ezpeleta & her husband Miguel of No. Andover. Two sons, Michael J. Kilkelly & wife Andrea McCarty of Santa Monica, CA and Patrick J. Kilkelly & wife Alison of Bloomfield, NJ. He was the brother of Thomas Kilkelly & wife Ellen of Bedford, NH and Marco Island, FL, Seamus Kilkelly & wife Bridie, Kathleen Kilkelly & Bridgett Lafferty of all of England, Joseph Kilkelly & wife Mary of Needham, Bernard Kilkelly & wife Breege of Ireland and Margaret Kilkelly-Ryan of Sandwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jason, Aidan, Emmet. Owen. Ragan and Gaelan.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home 19 Yale Ave. Wakefield Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. at 9:00. Relatives and friend may call at the funeral home Friday 4-8PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
