Michael Motzkin

Michael M. Motzkin, 38, of Wakefield formerly of Lynnfield died on Friday, August 1 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

Born in Malden on June 24, 1976 he was the son of Joseph E. and Sandra L. (Gopen) Motzkin of Lynnfield.

Michael was a graduate of Lynnfield High School, Class of 1994. He had attended the American University and had graduated from Merrimack College. Michael was very active in politics, an avid republican who ran many political campaigns and had worked at the State House. He had a great smile and loved everyone he meet. Michael also had a very special place in his heart for his niece and nephew.

In addition to his parents, Michael is survived by his brother Joseph H. Motzkin and his wife Lisa of Lynnfield, his grandmother Mary Motzkin of Malden, his partner Travis W. Rice of Wakefield, his aunt Suzanne Waite of Lynnfield, his uncle James Motzkin of Georgetown, his niece Amanda and his nephew Joseph Motzkin.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Tuesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Maria Goretti Church, 112 Chestnut St., Lynnfield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Michael M. Motzkin name to the Massachusetts General Hospital, 32 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114.
