Michael F. Robertson

Michael F. Robertson, age 72, of Wakefield, passed away March 23, 2025, at Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston.

Michael was the son of the late Francis and Geraldine (Fitzgerald) Robertson. Mike was raised in Somerville and attended Malden Catholic and Somerville public schools.

He spent the entirety of his career in the silk screen-printing business, of which he took much pride. He was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church.

Mike enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He looked forward to the Vaccaro family after-dinner card games and later, even endured the family game nights. Even though he complained, he was always willing to prepare excellent meals for family gatherings. Deep fried turkey, oven roasted potatoes, pork crown roast, Italian dinners and simple beef stew, were some of his specialties and will be missed.

Mike won many trophies during his years spent in bowling leagues, both as a teenager at Holiday Lanes and as an adult at Town Line. To the amazement of family and friends, Mike explored his artistic side by watching Bob Ross and using his techniques to create a few of his own works of art. Over the years he attended many air shows, car shows and races at New England Dragway. In his more adventurous days, he took flying lessons at Beverly Airport. Mike loved boating and spending time with friends at Lake Sunapee.

As much as he enjoyed family and friends, relaxing at home with Jeanne and their two “fuzzy buddy” cats was where Mike was the most content.

Mike was thankful for the support of family and friends through the past four challenging years and appreciated the excellent care provided at Tufts Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Vaccaro), with whom he shared nearly 48 years of marriage. He was the brother of Kenneth Robertson and his wife Diane and Nancy Gerbutavich and her husband Stephen. He was the brother-in-law of Anne Carmella and her husband Jeff, John Vaccaro, Kenneth Vaccaro and his wife Nancy, and David Vaccaro and his wife Claudia. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Friday, March 28 at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday, March 27 from 4-7pm. Interment, Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
