Michele Palmerino

Michele Joseph "Mike" Palmerino, 82, of Wakefield, died on December 7, 2009 at the Wingate Nursing Home in Reading.

Michele was the son of the late Nicola and Frances (Marsilia) Palmerino of Wakefield. He was a resident of Wakefield for 70 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II aboard the aircraft carrier Bon Homme Richard in the Pacific.

Upon his discharge from the U.S. Navy, Mike was self-employed in the bakery business and in later years was employed by and subsequently retired from the Thomas English Muffin Company.

He leaves his brother Alfred A. Palmerino, Sr. and his sister-in-law Catherine, his nieces and nephews Alfred A. Jr. and Catherine F. Levitan and her husband Robert all Los Angeles, Stephen P. and his wife Donna of Wilmington, David J. and his wife Amy of Billerica and Carolyn E. and Cara M. both of Stoneham.

He also leaves his brother Henry S. Palmerino and wife Jean of Wakefield and their children Mary Ann Matthews and husband Edward of Billerica, Nicholas Palmerino and wife Karen of Wakefield and Jo-Ann Bourassa and husband Stephen of Tewksbury.

Beloved Uncle Mike is survived by thirteen great nephews and nieces.

Mike provided unconditional love and devotion to his family. He contributed to their growth and happiness through his countless acts of kindness and unselfishness. Many lives were touched by his generosity and by their bonds of friendship with him.

The funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield on Saturday, December 12th at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Agnes Church, 186 Woburn Street, Reading at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday, December 11th from 4 to 8 p.m.
