Mildred Cronin

Mildred l. Cronin of Stoneham, formerly of Reading and Ft. Lauderdale, FL died Saturday at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham.

Born in Melrose October 12, 1913 she was the daughter of the late William and Katherine (Judge) Bekkenhuis.

Mildred was raised in Stoneham. She was a graduate of Stoneham High School Class of 1931. She was a member of St. Athanasius Church in Reading. Mildred enjoyed her summers at Hampton Beach and winters in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was a retired operator for the former New England Telephone Company and Nynex.

Mildred was the wife of the late William F. Cronin. She was the mother of Dennis Cronin and wife Peggy of Canton, GA, and the late William F. Jr., James M., and Mark Cronin. Mother in-law of Jacquelyn of Tampa, FL, Deborah of Hampton Beach, NH, and Ruth of Wakefield. Sister of Margaret Maloney of Washington D.C. and the late William and Allen Bekkenhuis, Ethel Greene, Edna Larakis, Corrinne Carpenter, and Ruth Fotino. Dear friend of the late Jean Driscoll. Also survived by 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at noon. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Interment, Forest Glen Cemetery, Reading.
