Mr. Sabino Ventola

Sabino Ventola , 96 of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville died Friday, November 13 at the Meadowview Nursing Center in North Reading.

Born in Taurasi, Italy on October 29, 1919 he was the son of the late Francesco and Pasqualina (Buono) Ventola .

Mr . Ventola was raised and educated in Italy and had served in the Italian Army during World War II. In the late 1950's he moved to the United States. He was a retired maintenance worker from the former Jordan Marsh in Downtown Crossing. Mr . Ventola enjoyed reading and walking.

He was the beloved husband of the late Ida (Giovino) Ventola . He was the loving father of Lidia DiPrizio and her husband Frank of Stoneham and the late Franco Ventola . He was the brother of the late Domenic and Michael Ventola and Phyllis Iannino. He was the loving grandfather to Jonathan, Daniel, Tommy, and Olivia. He is also survived by his daughter in-law Carol Ventola-Savoie of Westford.

His Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Lindenwood Cemetery in Stoneham. Visitation for relatives and friends at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
