Mrs. Velia Loffreda

Velia Loffreda , 79 of East Boston died Saturday, November 14 at the Peabody Glenn Healthcare Center in Peabody.

Born in Avellino, Italy on December 12, 1935, and was the daughter of the late Rocco and Grace (Mirra) Mirabella.

Velia moved to the United States in 1954, and settled in East Boston. She enjoyed painting, reading, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Velia was the beloved wife of Daniel Loffreda . She was the loving mother of Fred DiFronzo of Concord, NH, Daniela Domenica Loffreda of London, England, and Tania Loffreda of Wakefield. She was the sister of Anthony Mirabella of McLean, VA, and the late Paul Mirabella of Tewksbury. Velia is also survived by her 4 grandchildren, Katherine, Michael, Sienna, and Sydney.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m.
