Nahida N. Kattan

Nahida N. Kattan, 78, of Stoneham died on Wednesday September 25 at Brigham and Women’s Dana Farber Hospital. She was born in Jerusalem, February 1, 1946, and was the daughter of the late Nasri Kattan and Mary (Khoury) Jaber and Stepfather Zaki Jaber.

Nahida was the beloved sister of Suheil Jaber and his wife Mary of Haverhill, Samir Jaber and his wife Lee of Stoneham, Sami Jaber and his wife Sheryl of Naples, FL and the late Aida Kushakji. She is also survived by six nieces, four nephews and many great nieces and nephews

Nahida was raised in Jerusalem and Stoneham. She was a graduate of American Friends School Ramallah High School and went on to attend Al Ummah College. She moved to Boston to join her family in 1971 and worked as an analyst for Stone & Webster until 2002. She then worked for Massachusetts Department of Transportation and Albanese Brothers, Inc. until retirement.

Nahida lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others. She was known for her strong will, unwavering Christian faith, and endless love and support for her family and church. She was a devout member of The Shepherd's House church and was a spiritual leader for the entire congregation. She enjoyed bible studies, traveling, crocheting, dancing, and like her mom, cooking. 

Her departure comes as a great shock and is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply. Nahida, we love you and we will miss you.

Her Funeral Service will be held at the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main Street, Stoneham on Saturday September 28 at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10am. Interment, St. Patrick Cemetery Stoneham.
