Nancy Malonson

Nancy F. Malonson, age 62, a longtime Wakefield resident, passed away Monday, October 14 at her residence with her family by her side.

Born in Everett on November 23, 1956 she was the daughter of Paul and Anne (Gilmore) Fazzina.

Nancy was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1974. While in high school, she was a standout softball player and continued playing the sport well into her 30's by participating in the Wakefield Women's League. Following high school, Nancy attended both Eastern Arizona University and North Shore Community College. She had worked for the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital for many years and served in a number of capacities.

Nancy was an animal lover, most especially her cats. She was a lifelong member of the ASPCA. She enjoyed trips to the casino and anywhere there was sun; she and her husband would take yearly trips to all-inclusive tropical destinations. Nancy was also known for being a great cook of Italian cuisine. Above all, she loved her family and spending time with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her loving husband, Frederick H. Malonson, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage; her two daughters, Lori-Anne Malonson of Peabody and Michelle Malonson and her husband Steven Wilmoth of Winston-Salem, NC; her sister, Paula Fazzina and her husband Joe DeLuca of Pelham, NH; her grandsons, Hawthorne Malonson and Wyatt Wilmoth; and her life-long friend, Linda Cook of CA.

Her Funeral Service will be held in the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Friday at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment, Forest Glade Cemetery.
