Nancy M. Sacco, 95 a Wakefield resident for over 60 years died Tuesday December 11, at the Melrose Wakefield Hospital.
Born in Boston, January 22, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Amelia (Silano) D'Ambrosio.
Mrs. Sacco was a graduate of East Boston High School. She was a member of St. Florence Church and the Ladies Sodality. She was a tremendous Italian Chef. She enjoyed playing cards, being a homemaker, Dancing and Line Dancing which she did until she was 85 years old, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Mrs. Sacco was the wife of the late John Sacco. She was the mother of Lucille Doherty of Wakefield and her late husband James. She is also survived by her grandson James M. Doherty and his wife Jessica of Wilmington, and great granddaughter, Brynn Doherty, and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings; James and Anthony D'Ambrosio, Phyllis Siraco, Helen Sacco, Alice D'Ambrosio, Sue Sergi, Joseph D'Ambrosio, and Edward D'Ambrosio.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Friday at 10 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., Wakefield at 11 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden.
