Nellie J. Geggis, 89, of East Boston, formerly of Stoneham,
died on Sunday, June 29 in Topsfield.
Born in Boston on December 19, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Angela M. (Cornetta) Mazza.
Mrs. Geggis was raised in East Boston and was a graduate of East Boston High School. She had worked for the former Acro Manufacturing in Stoneham before her retirement.
Mrs. Geggis had lived in Stoneham from 1960 to 1985. She later lived with her sister, Rita in East Boston. The last few weeks of her life she received care from Hospice of the North Shore in the home of her son, Gerard.
Mrs. Geggis was the wife of the late John A. Geggis. Mother of Mary Emeric and husband Cliff of ID, William and wife Martha of Dracut, Paul and fiancee, Ada Troncoso of Methuen, Carl and fiancée Sabrina Astuto of SC, Gerard and wife Laura of Topsfield and the late John E. Geggis. Sister of Rita Mazza, of E. Boston, Nicholas Mazza of Plymouth, and the late Marianne Pascucci and Mary and Francis Mazza. Grandmother of Sara Frongillo and wife Dan of Duxbury, Jacob Geggis of Dracut, Matthew Geggis and wife Melanie, serving in the Navy in Gulf Port, MI, Rachelle Usher and husband John Braxton of Barnwell, SC, Stephen Geggis, serving in the Army in Kuwait, Bryan Geggis of Methuen, Jonathan Geggis of SC, Joshua Geggis and fiancée, Jennifer Chhea of Dracut, Leo Geggis and Elisabeth Geggis both of Topsfield and Gus Emeric of ID. Great Grandmother of Dorian Frongillo of Duxbury and Jaden Geggis of Dracut. Sister-in-law of Jean Merullo of Reading.
Her funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Thursday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham at 10 AM. Relative and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 4-8 PM. Interment, Lindenwood Cemetery, Stoneham.
