Nicholas "Nick" J. Bopf, of Wakefield, died suddenly at Winchester Hospital on September 30th at the age of 39. Nick is survived by his wife, Lisa A. (Alessandro) Bopf and their three energetic children, Owen, Clara and Andrew.
Nick was born in Point Pleasant, New Jersey on December 26, 1981. He graduated Manasquan High School in Manasquan, New Jersey in 2000. Nick moved to Massachusetts to attend Bentley College where he met the love of his life, Lisa. Nick was devoted to his family and treasured being a dad. He spent his free time playing in the yard with his children, enjoying all aspects of sports (especially his beloved Yankees!), and listening to an eclectic mix of music.
In addition to his wife and children, Nick is survived by and will be forever missed by his parents, Robert and Katherine (Walsh) Bopf, his sister, Kristin Mason and her husband Matthew Mason, his sister, Jessica Bopf and her fiancé Thomas Barry, all of New Jersey. Nick was the grandson of Christine Walsh and the late John Walsh, and Eileen Bopf and the late Raymond Bopf. He was the son-in-law of Tony and Debra Alessandro, and brother-in-law of Anthony and Kaleigh Alessandro. Nick was the uncle of Logan Mason, Isabelle Mason, Carson Barry, Kennedy Alessandro and Connor Alessandro. He also leaves behind many dear uncles, aunts and cousins.
Visitation for family and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Avenue, Wakefield, on Thursday October 7th from 4-7pm. A private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Boston Children's Hospital, 401 Park Drive, Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215, in Nick's memory.
