Olaf Gronberg, Jr.

Olaf Eric Gronberg , Jr ., 81, a longtime resident of Chelmsford died on Thursday, September 14 at his home.

Born in Salem on July 8, 1931 he was the son of the late Olaf E. and Helen (Lundgren) Gronberg .

Mr. Gronberg earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business from Northeastern University in 1970 and was a member of the Sigma Epsilon Row Honor Society. He had worked as a Contract Specialist for Raytheon before his retirement. He loved reading history and business books and was also an avid Red Sox fan.

Mr. Gronberg was the husband of Anne R. (Roache) Gronberg . He was the father of Dianne Reid and her husband Gregory of Chelmsford and Karen Schulte and her husband John of Roslindale. He was the brother of the late Connie Desmond. He was the grandfather of Bradford and Eryka Reid and the brother-in-law of Madeline Roache of Wakefield. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 o'clock. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
