Pasquale Spinosa

Pasquale J. "Pat" Spinosa, 68, of Wakefield died peacefully on Thursday, September 25 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital.

Born in Cambridge on January 1, 1940, he was the son of Mary (Spinosa) of Reading and the late Erasmo Spinosa.

Mr. Spinosa was raised in Somerville and was a graduate of Somerville High School and Boston College, Class of 1960. He was a veteran serving in the US Army. A long time teacher of more than 40 years he taught in Wilmington, Wethersfield, CT and retired from Bedford High School as Chairman of the Social Studies Department in 2002. He was a member of the Wakefield Lodge of Elks and the Marconi Club of Stoneham.

In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife Joanna L. (Capone). He was the father of Mary L. Spinosa and her fiancé Robert Haladay of Wakefield. Brother of Civitina Chumbley of FL, Nora Airey of NH and Mary Spinosa-Wilson of Acton. Brother-in-law of Amelia Capone and Ann Marie Mortellite. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10 AM. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 5 PM. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield
