Paul Alleca

Paul K. Alleca, 85, a life long resident of Wakefield died on Tuesday, August 16 at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford.

Born in Wakefield on May 2, 1926 he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary (Crupi) Alleca.

Paul was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1944 and Boston University. During World War II he served in the U.S. Army. He worked as an HVAC Engineer at the VA Hospital in Jamaica Plain and St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Brighton before his retirement. Paul was also a member of the Crystal Community Club in Wakefield.

Paul was the husband of Ida "Edie" (Pittella) Alleca. He was the father of Joseph Alleca and his wife Suzanne Rivard Alleca of Hookset, NH, Carol Alleca of Winter Springs, FL, and Mary Alleca and her husband Gary Shay of Maui, HI. He was the brother of the late Charlie and Nick Alleca and the grandfather of David and Adam Alleca, and Releen and Franco Franceschelli. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Saturday at noon. A period of visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday from 4-8 p.m. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.
