Paul O. Jensen, 68, of Lynnfield passed away at home on Monday, December 30 after a year long battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Mount Vernon, NY on November 24, 1945 he was the son of the late Poul O. and Augusta (Zeiller) Jensen.

Employed as a safety engineer for the GE Aircraft Engine Group in Lynn, for 37 years, Paul was honored in 2009 for outstanding contributions during a career of faithful service and dedication.

Paul was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served from 1968-1970.

Paul was an avid bike rider and a 25 year alumni of the Pan-Mass Challenge which benefits the Jimmy Fund. He also participated in Reid's Ride for 8 years.

Paul enjoyed the outdoors – hiking cross country skiing, camping, swimming, canoeing, and basketball and was a fantastic father.

Paul was the beloved husband of Barbara (Minkley) Jensen. He was the devoted father of Kristin Wallace and her husband Daniel of Tequesta, Florida and Paul W. Jensen and his wife Julie of Tewksbury. He was the brother of Ingrid Rinard, Anna Marie Wescott and John Jensen.

A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Wednesday, January 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment will at the V.A. National Cemetery of MA at a later date.
