Paul Larcom

Paul Sydney Larcom , age 86, a lifelong Beverly resident, died Monday, December 16 at the Lahey Clinic and Medical Center in Burlington.

Born in Beverly on March 19, 1933 he was the son of the late Sydney and Ingrid (Svendsen) Larcom .

Mr. Larcom was raised in Beverly and was a graduate of Beverly High School, attended Northeastern University, and then went on to serve in the United States Navy for six years. He had worked as a design draftsman for General Electric for most of his career and ultimately retired from GE. Mr. Larcom was an active member of the Beverly Historical Society as well as the Massachusetts Aviation Historical Society, and he was also a very devoted parishioner at the First Baptist Church of Wakefield where he served as a deacon and usher. Mr. Larcom enjoyed baseball and visiting family in North Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Elizabeth (Mitchell) Larcom , and her daughter, Marie Leong and her husband Sai of Mooresville, NC, and their children, Wyatt and Sela Leong. He is also survived by his dear friend Dr. William Poole of Beverly.

His Funeral Service will be held in the First Parish Congregational Church, 1 Church St., Wakefield on Saturday at 11am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. A private burial will take place at a later date. Arrangements in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
