Pauline Berggren

Pauline "Polly" A. Berggren, 87, of Wakefield, died on Friday, July 28 at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham.

Born in Wakefield on August 16, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Mary C. (McGrath) Gammons.

Polly was a lifelong resident of Wakefield. She was a graduate of Wakefield High School and worked for Wakefield Insurance Agency and Joseph A. Curley Insurance Agency in Wakefield, retiring in 2013.

Polly is survived by her husband Gunnar H. Berggren, her two sons; William Berggren of Allston and Robert Berggren and his wife Susan of Wakefield; her three grandchildren; Jillian, Amy, Kara and her husband Billy Sittig, and great-grandson, Beau. Polly was predeceased by her two brothers; Calvin Gammons and Thomas Gammons and her six sisters; Carolyn Jones, Irma Gammons, Myrtle Gammons, Lois Gammons, Leslie Brawley and Marjorie Norris.

A Graveside service will be held at Lakeside Cemetery in Wakefield on Wednesday, August 16 at 11am. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend. Memorial donations may be made to the Bear Hill Resident Council Fund c/o Bear Hill Nursing Center, 11 North Street, Stoneham, MA 02180
