Pearl Mae Allen, 87, of Lynnfield, died on February 9, 2019 at her home.
Born in Peabody on November 26, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Gloria (Nunes) Bullerwell.
Pearl was a tireless traveler throughout her life, constantly curious about all of the cultures and adventures that the countries of the world had to offer. At last count she had traveled to 47 countries throughout Africa, Europe, and Asia. She believed that the best education was attained through immersion in other cultures, and during her life she lived in Nigeria (where she met her husband Derek), Germany, England (where she and Derek raised Jennifer), and throughout the United States. Well into her 70s she traveled extensively with her daughter, son-in-law, grandsons, sister, and many friends. She was an avid reader of classics and mysteries, and she loved cinema, African and Indian art, all things Portuguese, and other worldly delights that she discovered and shared. The last 19 years of her life were dedicated to being "Nana" to her beloved grandsons Jack and Spencer Daniszewski, providing them with daily love, encouragement, and adventure.
Pearl was the beloved wife of the late Derek William Allen. She was the loving mother of Jennifer Mae Allen and her husband Robert Daniszewski, and was grandmother of Jack, 19, and Spencer, 15, all of Ashland, MA. She was the sister of Audrey Farnsworth of Danvers, and John Bullerwell of Peabody.
Services will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made in Pearl's name to: Friends of Lynnfield Library, 18 Summer Street, Lynnfield, MA 01940.
