Peter Barton

Peter R. Barton, 70, of Wakefield died on Monday, January 30 at the Sawtelle Family Hospice House in Reading.

Born in Medford on July 26, 1941 he was the son of the late Barker E. "Lefty" and June (Cohen) Barton.

Peter was raised in Stoneham and was a graduate of Stoneham High School, Class of 1959. He was a retired truck driver for Peter Barton Trucking Company. Peter was a motorcycle enthusiast and a Boston Bruins fan.

Mr. Barton is survived by his wife Jerilyn A. (Marinelli), his three sons; Peter R. Barton, Jr. and his wife Diane of North Reading, William J. Barton of Wakefield and Todd M. Barton and his wife Kim of Raleigh, North Carolina and his sister Charlotte "Cindy" Sofia of Salisbury. Peter is also survived by his 4 grandchildren; Gabrielle, Kaylee, Madison and Emma.

A funeral service will be held in the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Friday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8pm. Interment will be at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St, Reading, MA 01867.
