Peter Ingeneri

Peter J. Ingeneri, age 96 of Quincy and formerly of Wakefield and East Boston died Saturday June 23 at the So. Shore Medical Center. He was born in Faro Superiore, Sicily on September 5, 1921 and was the son of the late Giuseppi and Maria Ingegneri. Raised in Boston, he was a graduate of Boston Latin High School in 1939 and later from Boston University in 1946. He was a W.W. II veteran and served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Ingeneri was a longtime teacher in the Boston Public Schools and served the last sixteen years of his career there as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.

He was the beloved husband for 66 years to the late Rose L. (Marinelli) Ingeneri. He was the loving father of Peter J. Ingeneri, Jr. and his wife Beth of NH and Rev. Paul M. Ingeneri and his wife Betsy of TN. He was the brother of Grace Ingegneri and Susie Barry of Braintree, Santa Casella of Waltham and the late Michael Ingegneri and Mary Scaltrito. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Alex, Charlie, Nikolaus, Trevor, Jessica and Kristofor and numerous great grandchildren.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Florence Church 47 Butler Ave. Wakefield on Wednesday July 11 at 10:00. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bay State Chapter of Freedoms Foundation P.O. Box 520208 Winthrop, MA 02152.
