Peter A. Sullivan, age 85, of Wakefield passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 15 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital. 

Peter was born in Malden on May 5, 1939 and was the son of the late Peter and Elizabeth (Dennehy) Sullivan. 

Mr. Sullivan was raised and educated in Malden until his senior year of high school when the family moved to Melrose. He graduated from Melrose High School, Class of 1958. Heading right into the workforce, Mr. Sullivan had a long career in the inventory production side of the food service industry, from which he retired after 40 years. 

Mr. Sullivan loved Irish music and was often seen tinkering around the house wearing headphones. He was very handy and was always fixing things. He loved attending his children's sporting events and in later years cheering on his grandchildren. He was a dedicated member of St. Joseph Church, attending mass on a daily basis.

He was the beloved husband of the late Carolyn G. (Mooney) with whom they shared 56 years of marriage. He was the loving father of Kevin G. Sullivan and his wife Bridget of Lynnfield, Kerry A. Angelo and her husband Mark of Newtown Square, PA, and Kelly M. Girotti and her husband William of Wakefield. He was the adoring “Papa” to Cameron and Tim Sullivan, Brooks Angelo, and Erin and Molly Girotti. He was the brother of the late Josephine and Mary Sullivan. 

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield on Thursday, February 6 at 10am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Arrangements are in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, TN, 38105.
