Philip J. Holland, 86, of Woburn died peacefully on Wednesday, August 21 at his residence.
Born in Malden on May 24, 1933, he was the son of the late Francis and Helen (McEvoy) Holland.
Mr. Holland was a graduate of Malden Catholic High School, Class of 1952. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a training corporal. He enjoyed his profession as a Finish Carpenter for his company, Quality Carpentry. Phil Holland was an active member of St. Eulalia's Church Community in Winchester. He devoutly participated in several church groups and activities; men's prayer groups, bible study groups and as an altar server and Eucharistic minister. He was also a participant of the Winchester Jenks Center and active in several public library groups. Phil generously donated over 55 gallons of platelets over 35 years to Children's Hospital in Boston in Thanksgiving for the good health of his daughter, Jannique Holland.
He is survived by his wife Ethel J. (Choquette) Holland his daughter Jannique C. Holland of Lowell, his brother Francis Holland, Jr., of Stoneham, his sister Helen Enos of Reading and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Arthur and Geraldine Francoeur of Fall River.
His Funeral will be held from the McDonald-Finnegan Funeral Home, 322 Main St., Stoneham on Wednesday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Eulalia Church, 50 Ridge St., Winchester at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday from 4-8pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick's School, 20 Pleasant St., Stoneham, MA 02180.
