Philip Morrison

Philip D . Morrison , 64 of Lowell formerly of Wakefield died Saturday, March 7, at his home.

Born in Melrose on September 8, 1950 he was the son of the late Frederick S. and Gladys T. (Quinn) Morrison .

Philip was raised in Wakefield and was a graduate of Wakefield High School, Class of 1969. He went on to serve in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Philip made friends wherever he was. After hearing about his death, one neighbor said "He was the best neighbor I ever had…he was perfect". Philip found a way to endear many local businesses. He was a regular at Richardson's Ice Cream as well as Ray's Stateline Market where he bought his lottery tickets. He gave his jeep to a friend in need as opposed to trading it in. In many ways he was an unsung hero. Many of us would never be able to repay him for what he did for us, but that's just a piece he's left behind for all of us.

Philip was the beloved husband of Denise Beaulieu-Morrison. He was the loving father of Trisha Morrison of Amesbury, Aimee B. Morrison , and Emily B. Morrison , both of Lowell. He was the brother of Peter L. Morrison of Springfield, Jane Fox of Westfield, Ellen Cardwell of Wakefield and the late Stephen and Anne Morrison . He is also survived by his grandson, David Davis.

His funeral will be held from the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Thursday at 9am followed by a funeral mass in St. Joseph Church, 173 Albion St., Wakefield at 10am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4-8pm. Interment will take place Friday at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
