Phyllis K . (Lowe) Porter , 94, of Middleton, formerly of Lynnfield, died Wednesday, February 19 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.
Born in Lynn on November 26, 1919 she was the daughter of the late Irving A. and Eunice (Francis) Lowe.
Mrs. Porter was a graduate of Lynn English High School, Class of 1937. She then went on to graduate from Lynn Hospital School; becoming a Registered Nurse and working for Lynn Hospital. Later, she moved on to Carney Hospital where she received training in anesthesiology, which began her work as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist for both Carney Hospital and Choate Medical Center. Mrs. Porter had been a long time resident of Lynnfield, living in town for 34 years prior to moving to Middleton two years ago. She enjoyed sailing and skiing.
Mrs. Porter was the devoted wife of Charles M. Porter of Middleton. She was the loving mother of Lynne Pesce of Lynn and Lee A. Kesler and his wife Joanne of Reading. She was the adoring grandmother of Kristin Doherty, Andrew Kesler and Emily Kesler. She is also survived by her sister Hazel Rigby of Carver and her brother Richard Lowe of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her brother Arnold Lowe.
Her funeral will be held in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 127 Summer Street, Lynnfield on Tuesday at 11 o'clock. A visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave., Wakefield on Monday from 4 to 8pm. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Lynnfield.
