Prudence Evangeline (Nelson) (Goddard) White, 92, of Wakefield passed away at her home after a brief illness on Thursday, October 8.
Born in Melrose on January 24, 1917 she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ella (Braun) Nelson.
Mrs. White was educated in the Wakefield Public Schools. She was last employed as a school bus driver for the Wakefield Schools. Mrs. White resided in Lynn and Wakefield and was actively associated with Jehovah's Witnesses in Saugus. She was an avid bird watcher and enjoyed playing board games including cribbage and scrabble.
Mrs. White was the wife of the late George Goddard and the late Philip White. She is survived by her beloved children, Jeffery Goddard of Salisbury, Christine (Goddard) Bergendahl of Danvers, William Goddard of Wakefield, Cheryl (Goddard) Robinson of Wakefield, Crystal (White) West of Lynnfield, Philip White Jr. of Burlington, Iowa, Roxanne (White) Bergendahl of Wakefield and Matthew White of Saugus. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren, plus several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She also leaves behind her lifelong friend, Annie (Rufo) Perriera of Holliston. Mrs. White was predeceased by her grandson, Kevin Goddard, her sister Grace Blaney and her brother John Nelson.
Funeral services will be private.
Arrangements were in the care of the McDonald Funeral Home, Wakefield.
