R. Jean Wicks, 85, of Everett, formerly of Wakefield and Malden died on Sunday, March 10.
Born in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada on November 7, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Lucy (Reynes) Taylor.
Mrs. Wicks was raised in St. John's Newfoundland, Canada and had been a United States citizen since the age of 20. She was a member of the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church of Wakefield and a past member of the Centre United Methodist Church in Malden where she was an active member of the Women's Society of the church and had also taught Sunday School.
Mrs. Wicks was the beloved wife of the late Ralph B. Wicks. Loving mother of Pamela Kelly & husband Michael of Bend, OR, Dianne Mailly & husband Stephan of Everett & Karen Crory of So. Tamworth, NH. Sister of Carson Taylor of Canada & the late Alister Taylor & Phyllis Hudson.She was also the grandmother of Rebeccah Kocak & husband Daniel & Glenn White and great grandmother of Taryn & Grant Kocak.
A funeral service will be held in the Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon St., Wakefield on Thursday at 11am. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave, Wakefield on Wednesday from 4-8 pm. Interment will be at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
